While its activities on cross-cutting federal issues have been wide-ranging, in recent years, the organization has increasingly focused on the role of federal health, environmental, and safety risk assessment in evaluating the potential benefits of federal, state, and local regulatory actions. In this area, Federal Focus has been a proponent of greater clarity and disclosure in risk characterizations and for separating scientific data and evaluations from policy judgments.
